so if they launched at you everythign they had, simultaneously. u think you would survive long enough to launch back. do you have any idea the power of modern day nukes?why would u not want to be able to surive and strike back. its common sense

Why would submarines sat on the other side of the world be affected by attacks on our homeland? These things are monitored you know?
You'd be asking the same thing to the Russians in LAUNCHING the attacks? It'd be suicide.

The general situation of things is that Russia commits suicide by launching nuclear missiles at any country capable of returning nuclear fire on a large scale.

Wether there's a continent left is irrelevant? We'd have entered nuclear war.
